Mercury Quicksilver Remote Control Attaching Kit — Part Number 95722A1

Brand: Mercury Quicksilver | Condition: New Old Stock (NOS)

Genuine Mercury Quicksilver remote control attaching kit, part number 95722A1. Mercury’s own catalogue name for this group is ATTACHING KIT-REMOTE CONTROL, and the box wording is Remote Control Attachment Kit — the same item either way. This is the hardware kit that mounts a Mercury or Mariner remote control to the boat and links it to the engine: the brackets, levers, cable ends, pins and fasteners that turn a control box and a pair of cables into a working throttle and shift system. It is catalogued in Mercury’s Rigging section under Remote Controls and Components.

Mercury no longer supplies complete attaching kits of this family. The sibling kit in this same group, 95722A7, is listed flatly as NLA — no longer available — and every complete attaching kit assembly across these diagrams shows as unavailable with no replacement. Mercury kept selling scattered individual pieces from inside them for a while, but the kits themselves are gone. If you are rigging a remote control onto one of these motors, a complete factory kit is no longer something you can order.

Condition Details

New Old Stock — never installed, never rigged to a boat. This kit has been in dealer or distributor inventory and is sold exactly as it came off the shelf. Packaging may show shelf wear, dust, handling creases, faded or discolored printing, old price stickers, or shelf dirt from long-term storage, and the carton may have been opened for inventory counting.

Please look carefully at the photos for the exact contents. On any kit of this age I will not tell you it is complete unless I have counted it, and Mercury never published a contents list for this particular variant, so the photos are the authority on what you are buying. Message me before you buy and I will inventory the box piece by piece and tell you exactly what is in it — including whether the original installation instruction sheet is present. I would far rather spend ten minutes counting than have you open a box that is missing the one bracket you needed.

A note on the part number: the “A1” suffix indicates a kit or assembly, and on this part number the suffix is critical — see the warning below.

Superseded & Cross Reference Part Numbers

  • Mercury 95722A1
  • Quicksilver 95722A1

There is no supersession on this number and no aftermarket cross reference. Mercury did not replace 95722A1 with a newer kit — the catalogue entry simply ends.

Important — the suffix matters more than usual on this part. Mercury catalogued the 95722 attaching kits as three separate diagram groups, each with its own parts list:

  • 95722A1 — this kit, its own group
  • 95722A3, A4, A5 (with 43066A1, A2) — a second group
  • 95722A7 (with 43066A3) — a third group

These are different kit configurations, not revisions of one another. A kit with a different suffix will contain different pieces. If your parts diagram, service manual or old control box calls for 95722A1 specifically, this is the kit. If it calls for A3, A4, A5 or A7, this is not — please do not order it on the assumption that the suffixes interchange. Match the full number including the suffix.

Features

  • Genuine Mercury Quicksilver OEM kit, not an assembled set of look-alike hardware
  • Complete factory attaching kits in this family are no longer available from Mercury — no current production, no replacement kit number
  • Factory kit hardware: correct brackets, levers, cable ends and fasteners engineered as a system
  • Unused — clean threads, unbent brackets, no corrosion from years on a transom
  • The alternative is assembling the equivalent from individual part numbers, many of which are themselves discontinued
  • Contents verified and photographed on request before you buy

Application

Mercury and Mariner outboards rigged with a remote control, as catalogued in Mercury’s Rigging — Remote Controls and Components section. The surrounding catalogue section covers model years 1986 through 1993, which places this kit’s era, though 95722A1 is the earliest of the three suffix variants and may reach back further.

Mercury organised rigging accessories of this type by control model rather than by engine, so there is no engine-by-engine horsepower list for this kit. Confirm it by part number. If your engine’s Remote Control Attaching Kit diagram, your service manual, or the label on your old kit shows 95722A1, this is your part.

Why Choose Mercury Quicksilver?

Quicksilver is Mercury Marine’s own parts brand, so this is the factory kit in Mercury’s packaging, built to Mercury’s specification. On a remote control installation that matters in a very practical way: the throttle and shift geometry is what makes a control feel right and shift cleanly, and that geometry comes from the specific lengths of the levers, the specific positions of the bracket holes, and the specific cable end fittings in this kit. Rig it with approximate hardware and the symptoms are the ones every boater recognizes — a shift that needs two hands, a throttle with a dead spot, or a control that will not quite reach neutral. Those are geometry problems, and you cannot adjust your way out of them.

There is also a simple availability argument. Because the complete kits are discontinued, the fallback is buying the individual pieces by number — and a good many of those individual numbers are themselves dead, including several levers, sleeves, washers and shift shafts in these diagrams that Mercury also no longer supplies. Assembling the equivalent from scratch now means hunting multiple discontinued numbers across multiple sellers. A factory kit in one box is a materially better starting point.

Returns

30-day return policy. If this part is not right for your application, open a return request through eBay within 30 days of delivery and I will take care of it. Given that this is a kit and that Mercury’s published fitment data is thin, please message me before ordering — I will inventory the contents and check your application against the factory diagrams. I am happy to do it and it saves us both the trouble.

Thank you for looking at this listing. QBS Parts, Inc has been supplying hard-to-find and discontinued marine, industrial and engine parts for years, and we know that when you are mid-job on a boat the part you need is the part you need. Everything we list is inspected before it goes out the door and described as honestly as we can describe it.

If anything about this part is not what you expected, or if you have a question about fitment, measurements, or what is in the package, please contact us first and give us the chance to make it right. We would much rather solve a problem for you directly than have you leave feedback about one. A message gets answered quickly and we will do whatever we reasonably can to sort it out.
