Fleetguard Hydraulic Filter Element — Part Number HF6023

Brand: Fleetguard | Condition: New Old Stock (NOS)

Genuine Fleetguard hydraulic filter element, part number HF6023. An inline, open-ended cartridge element for John Deere combine hydraulic systems — 86 mm outside diameter, 8 inches long. This part is obsolete and no longer in production. From original dealer stock, in Fleetguard packaging, never fitted.

Condition Details

New Old Stock. The element is new and unused, never installed and never exposed to fluid. As with all NOS stock, the original Fleetguard box or wrapper may show shelf wear, dust, discoloration, crushed corners, or age-related dirt. The part is sold as new; the packaging is sold as-is. The media is clean and dry, the end caps are true and undamaged, and the pleat pack is intact.

Specifications

  • Part Number: HF6023
  • Part Type: Hydraulic filter element, inline cartridge
  • End caps: open-ended both ends
  • Outside Diameter: 85.85 mm (3.38 in)
  • Inside Diameter: 65 mm (2.57 in)
  • Overall Length: 203.2 mm (8.00 in)

Dimensions above are taken from Fleetguard’s own hydraulic product guide and confirmed by measurement of the part in hand. Efficiency and media grade are not published for this element.

A note on one published dimension. Baldwin’s equivalent element, PT522, is published at the same 65.1 mm inside diameter and the same 203.2 mm length, but at a 95.3 mm outside diameter against Fleetguard’s 86 mm. The inside diameter and the length are what determine whether an element seats correctly on the centre tube and in the housing, and those two figures agree exactly. We are flagging the outside-diameter difference rather than hiding it. If outside diameter is critical to your housing, the part in this listing measures 85.85 mm — measured, not quoted.

Important warning on the John Deere number. The cross tables map this element to John Deere AH76668, and that mapping is correct for the vintage combine application. However, John Deere’s current catalogue lists AH76668 as an engine AIR filter element. The number appears to have been reassigned. Do not order a hydraulic element from a Deere dealer by quoting AH76668 today — you will receive an air filter. Order by HF6023, or by one of the filter-manufacturer numbers above, and match the dimensions.

Features

  • Genuine Fleetguard — the filtration brand of Cummins Filtration, an original equipment supplier rather than a copy house
  • Obsolete and out of production. This is the entire value proposition. HF6023 is carried by no current distributor — it does not appear in Fleetguard’s live catalogue, on Filterfinder, FinditParts, SimplyFilter, Zoro, or any other parts channel. It survives only in the archived product guide and on shelves like this one
  • Fifteen filter-brand crosses and three OEM numbers, so the element can be identified from whatever number appears in a forty-year-old service record
  • Open-ended cartridge construction — straightforward to fit, no threaded base, no gasket to source separately
  • Measured dimensions, not quoted ones. The 85.85 mm outside diameter above came off a caliper, which is more than any competing listing for this part can offer, because there are no competing listings
  • Running a vintage John Deere combine means sourcing parts that nobody stocks. When the correct element turns up, it is worth having

Application

John Deere combines:

  • 3300
  • 4400
  • 4420
  • 6600
  • 6602
  • 7700

Also catalogued against Caterpillar 3I1595 and General Motors 25012545.

This is a general application guide drawn from the aftermarket cross-reference tables for this element. These machines date from the 1970s and were revised across build years. Please confirm HF6023, or match the 65 mm inside diameter and 8.00 inch length, against the element you are replacing before ordering. If you are unsure, send us a message with your machine model and serial number, or the dimensions of your old element, and we will check it with you.

Why Choose Fleetguard?

Fleetguard is Cummins Filtration, and on a hydraulic element that distinction is structural rather than cosmetic. The media has to hold its pleat geometry under full flow and cold-start pressure differential, the end caps have to stay bonded, and the element has to collapse gracefully rather than shedding media into the system if it ever plugs. A cheap element that fails structurally does not simply stop filtering — it feeds its own media downstream into the pump and the valve block. On a combine that is a harvest lost, not a repair deferred. Fleetguard built this element to original equipment specification when it was in production, and an unused one is exactly as good today as it was then.

Returns

Returns accepted within 30 days through the eBay return request process. The part must be returned in the condition in which it was sent, unused and with the media clean and dry. Please confirm fitment against your machine, or against the dimensions of your old element, before ordering — and please read the warning above regarding John Deere number AH76668.

Thank you for looking at this listing. We are a small parts business and we work hard to describe every part accurately, including the condition of NOS packaging and the limits of what the factory data tells us. If anything about this part is not what you expected when it arrives, please contact us first and give us the chance to make it right. We will always work with you.

If you have a part number you are hunting for and do not see it listed, send us a message — our inventory is considerably larger than what is posted at any given moment, and we are happy to check the shelves for you.
